What local eating joint which won official commendation for cleanli-, ness has a trained lady bug which lights on customers? Anecdote Interesting anecdote concerning prominent local figger whom we shall call Madame It happened at Madame X's apartment three weeks back, where the madame was resting from her arduous duties as an administrator of or university affairs. The clock was just striking 2 a. m. when a knocking at the door aroused Mme. the roommate of Madame X.

It was a young man, very much dishevelled. He demanded to see the austere Madame X. After protestation he was admitted and the Madame aroused from, a blissful sleep. The visitor poured out a tale of woe, telling the kindly and much interested Madame that he was the victim of an enchantress who was married. The Madame was very maternal and gave him some sound advice concluding with an admonition against such sirens.

Well she might for the youth had told a heart rending narrative. PART TWO An hour or so later the Madame and the Mlle. were aroused from a period of rest by noises. Terror filled them and they were seized with a panic which brought cold chills to their very marrow. In response to cries of "Who's There?" they received no reply, so reaching for the bed side phone they called the local gendarmes.

Of course the gendarmes found no one and pooh poohed the idea of housebreakers. The rest of the night was unevent- ful. EXPLANATION A certain fraternity, always interested in the progress of education and the development of character sent its pledges out to paint barrels. One pledge was assigned to paint his barrel the exact color of Prof. Leonard's tie and to secure a portion of one of the original ties for evidence.

The visitor at the apartment it was the same person both times (he had switched off the night latch the first time to pave the way for his second and more clandestine and dubious entrance), was one of these pledges. He had been assigned to paint his barrel the same color as the highlady-administrative official's undershirt and to secure a portion of the undershirt as evidence! These college boys! Sol Gloves Your Uncle Sol Levitan is still wearing that lambskin benny of his'n, inasmuch as the keeper of the state bucks is a very cold blooded person and wears layers of sweaters and vests to guard off the breezes. Novelette Did you ever hear of the co-ed sisters who came to school together, the elder engaged to a nice boy and the younger all set to tear the town apart with a stupendous career as a heart crusher. The elder sister warned against such follies, preached long sermons on the subject and generally averred that any girl who fished the men was wasting her time.

The younger sister declared herself with Pat Henry, cried for liberty, independence, and spirit of conquest. The lure of the social calcium had her tight in its grasp. Time passed and look at the situation today. The older sister has aired her betrothed and has collected three fraternity pins in four weeks. She is the belle of the local balls and is setting a merry pace among the local bright lights and along the local Main Stem.

She is one of the most popular and sought after campus queens. The younger sister is definitely and permanently out of circulation. She resists the hot shots. declines all sorts of invitations, and is purely a one-man-girl. Wedding bells are in the offing.

And the gag is that the man she is cuckoo over is the same one her older sister tossed over for a tour around the baloney belt! Obituary DR. DANIEL B. COLLINS Funeral services for Dr. Daniel B.
